Santa
Monica Mountains Recreation Area |
King
Gillette Ranch Visitor Center |
This visitor
center is located in the Santa Monica Mountains just North of
Los Angeles, California. The natural history models I produced
were part of a larger exhibit produced and installed by Color-Ad,
Inc. (Thanks again for another fun collaboration!) I was not
in on the installation so all my images are of the models before
they left my studio. Although I hope to take a trip out there
sometime soon and take some photos of the models in their intended
environment.

Bobcat

Based on the
images provided by the park, the model was sculpted in polygem and
apoxy clay over a urethane foam taxidermy form. Incorporated with
glass eyes, monofilament whiskers and ear tufts, the model was then
painted with vinyl acrylics in the regional color scheme of a western
bobcat.
Approximate
size is 19"H x 24"W x 6"D
