The Birchmere (America's Legendary Music Hall) has been located in Alexandria, Virginia for over 30 years. At one time there was an on-site brewery behind where the Flex Stage is presently located. On this page you'll find some images of murals I painted there (with Sean McDaniel) that no longer exist.

Scroll down and click on any of the images below for more details.

This was the far opposite wall with the entrance to the tasting room on the left (behind the beergarden) and the entrance to the one-time Brewery straight ahead. Another wall 14' x 65' with a stucco finish.

birchmere sign

This is the marquee I designed and painted for the club. The 6' x 12' iron stucture that stands 16' tall was fabricated by Flaherty Ironworks. I then cut out, painted, and installed the sheet metal panels. The dobro, burger, and stein are all separate cut-outs.The track letters allow the act names to be changed on a daily basis.

These are details from the marquee sign that were once on Mount Vernon Avenue. These were flat 0.63" aluminum cut-outs painted with sign enamel and riveted to the iron scrollwork.
